Communicating Climate Science
The Collider and CASE are committed to promoting the next generation of climate/environmental leaders in their efforts to communicate and address climate-related issues.
In doing so, we are proud to share with you an in-depth exploration of how Environmental Scientists can communicate climate science and climate change to the public, through the work of students from the Environmental Sciences Major group at UC Santa Cruz.
They used ArcGIS StoryMaps to create stories about the effects of climate change and what things can be done to help the planet. All the projects used NOAA and/or NCEI data in some capacity.
Liz Tarquin from The Collider Asheville says, ”These StoryMaps are impressive and align perfectly with our mission to advocate for STEM programs. They also demonstrate our commitment to supporting the next generation of climate scientists by utilizing NOAA/NCEI data to address environmental issues. We're excited to feature them and help showcase our dedication to these causes."
